Building Python on Windows – May skip VS2010

Brian Curtin submitted a patch to enable python 2.7 to compile using VS2010 for x64 target. The bug is rejected at the end because it might eventually move to VS2012

Trying to compile python 3.2 on winxp using VS Express 2008. Basically all the other express version (2003, 2005 and 2010 ) won’t work.

Even the VS Express 2008 does not like the sln file.
