Trying to build erlang on scientific linux.

Currently missing a number of libraries. Installing java-1.6.0-openjdk now for the jinterface

I am surprised by how short the patch is.

Try to use git on a cpython code base (which uses hg as the VCS). Was thinking: Need to come up with a .gitignore myself, probably. Turns out there is a .gitignore in the repository. Glad need not to do this extra work
